'Hygge', pronounced 'hoo-ga' is a Danish word that has no direct translation into English but rather encompasses a feeling or state of mind. Perhaps the closest word would be something like 'cosiness', but it's so much more than that. It's that feeling of happiness, joy, contentment, warmth, tranquility... You might experience this when you're sitting cuddled up on the sofa with a loved one, having a glass of wine beside a roaring fire,  soaking in a bath lit by candlelight...
